Long known for his hair and beard, “Caveman” will soon have a new look — all for charity. 360 Sports client, Brian Folkerts, C, Panthers, is cutting his signature long hair to make donations to Wigs for Kids, an organization that provides Hair Replacement Systems for children who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy, radiation therapy, Alopecia, Trichotillomania, burns and other medical issues at no cost to children or their families.
“I haven’t cut my hair since I was a junior in college at Washburn University,” said Folkerts. “When I was a junior in college and getting some interest from NFL Scouts, I told myself I wouldn’t cut my hair until I made it in the NFL. As proud as I am to be the Caveman and Center for the Carolina Panthers, I’m even more excited that my hair is going to go to kids who are having tough times. Maybe someday the Caveman will return with another full head of hair to donate.” Follow him on www.brianfolkerts.com.
Craig Domann, NFL Agent, shared, “I told Brian that after his haircut, he’ll need to check in with the Panthers equipment manager to get fitted for a new helmet.
“Not every college kid who pledges to not cut his hair until he makes it in the NFL actually makes it to the NFL,” Domann pointed out. “Brian Folkerts has made it with commitment, dedication, hard work, and sacrifice. Those character traits have served him well and will continue to serve him well as he continues his NFL career.
“Not every caveman has the heart for kids that Brian Folkerts has and is willing to cut their hair for such a great cause. What a privilege for Brian to have a positive impact on a young person’s live at a time when they are facing a lot of adversity.”
Carolina Panthers teammate, Brenton Bersin will also be participating in cutting his hair to donate towards Wigs for Kids. Forlkerts and Bersin will be hosting a Reddit AMA before cutting their hair at 12:45 PM ET (Feb. 25), click here to access.
